About the Fused Glass Birds and Butterflies Workshop
Enjoy a morning spent making your own fused glass hangings and be inspired by the bird and butterflies while we try to capture the beautiful iridescent colours which we see in nature.
After a brief introduction to how to work safely with glass, Stevie will teach you the technique of cutting and layering sheet glass to produce your own unique creations. You will be given a simple base shape to work into in order to make your design unique. Using metallic effect glass, a rainbow of colours and a myriad of decorative details, Stevie will help you to design and make at least one hanging design, approximately 16cm.
Your creations will need to be taken back to Stevie’s studio, fired in a kiln and will be ready approximately 2/3 weeks after the workshop. Collection from Stevie’s studio in Derby can be arranged or return postage at cost.
The course fee includes all equipment and enough materials to enable you to make one detailed piece, if you wish to make more extra materials can be purchased on the day, at minimal cost.
