About Pine Needle Baskets
Simple coiled baskets can be made using a wide range of materials and just a simple needle and thread. Here you will learn the basic techniques and be able to experiment with a range of natural materials, including foraged pine needles. Your baskets will look and smell great!
This workshop is open to all. No experience is necessary
The price includes refreshments. Please bring a packed lunch.
About Jane Bevan
Following a 25 year career curating art exhibitions and working in museums Jane is now a full time artist, making collage, small sculptures and vessels from found, natural materials such as bark, feathers, seeds and thorns collected in English woodlands.
She graduated from the University of Derby in 2011 with a 1st class degree on the Crafts BA course which focuses on sustainability and innovation. Her work won the 2011 Purchase Award. She now exhibits her work in galleries and exhibitions in the UK.
In 2013 her book, ‘Craft From Natural Materials’ was published by Bloomsbury http://www.bloomsbury.com/author/jane-bevan
She runs an extensive programme of workshops/courses for adults and children creating artwork with found, natural materials in galleries, hospitals, schools and venues throughout the UK.
