About the Rag Rug Workshop
Join us for a cosy and relaxed morning in the roundhouse for this beginners workshop and start your own rag rug project. We will begin with a brief history of this sustainable craft and practice the clippy method of rag rugging together, before planning out your project piece. Fuelled by homemade cake and good company we will begin to create something both useful, practical and beautiful.
Hessian, fabrics, tools will be provided but please bring your own (sharp) scissors. You may also want to bring your own bag of fabric scraps (no denim, knits, sheets or silk). This is a no-sew craft and suitable for complete beginners.
Refreshments including home made cake will be provided throughout the morning!
Open to accompanied children too, although we would suggest they should be at least 8 and patient too!
Please note; those with respiratory issues may wish to consider whether the hessian fibers might aggravate their condition.
About Sarah Ryan
Sarah is a lifelong crafter and nature lover with a huge interest in sustainability and self-sufficiency. Following a 14-year career in graphic design, Sarah retrained with the Royal Forestry Society in outdoor learning. This journey later led to qualifications in bushcraft and mindfulness. Sarah now delivers a variety of seasonal workshops and retreats to children and adults of all ages.
