About the Wire Poppies and Seed Heads Workshop
Learn to create wire poppies and seed heads. Make a beautiful mini bouquet and large scale flowers for the garden.
The workshop is suitable for anyone and is a nice introduction to learning basic metalwork and jewellery making skills. It is a technique you’ll be able to do again and again at home.
On this full day flower workshop you will learn to make poppies and poppy seed heads and will be provided with a selection of different wires to develop your designs in. All the materials are supplied and you’ll get a handout to remind you of how to do the basics as well as suggestions for suppliers.
We’ll all start with a sample flower in soft wire and then in the morning there should be time for you to create at least 3 small flowers and a mini seed head.
In the afternoon we will go large and create a large sculptural flower and seed head for the garden.
This workshop grew out of a remembrance project with a secondary school in Ilkeston where every student in the school made a wire poppy. Since then Anna has delivered this workshop around the country.
